Training

Our principal chaplain holds a Masters in Healthcare Chaplaincy and delivers the training.

Our chaplains are trained using the Foundations of Primary Care Chaplaincy materials.

This is a nationally recognised programme which was established by the Association of Chaplain in General Practice (ACGP).

This involves 6 sessions which cover the principles and ethics of working within the NHS, examination of spiritual care, and many practical sections on issues relating to mental health, spiritual care and wellbeing.

The course is practical and involves group work and role play, as well as personal reflections and a self-care component each time.
