Training
Our chaplains are trained using the Foundations of Primary Healthcare Chaplaincy course which is provided by The Association of Chaplaincy in General Practice (ACGP).
The Association of Chaplaincy in General Practice - improving care through listening and guidance

This course is delivered online, usually twice a year.
This course is for those interested in, or just starting work in, GP chaplaincy and covers the principles and ethics of working within the NHS, examination of spiritual and religious care.
There are sections on listening well, and teaching on issues relating to mental health, spiritual care and wellbeing. The course is practical and involves group work and role play, as well as personal reflections and self-care components.

For ongoing training the chaplains meet regularly as a team for supervison and training and development. Our principal chaplain holds a Masters in Healthcare chaplaincy.
